Our Story

Hi we are Blake and Cyndi Taylor - owners of Lovejoy’s Real Ice Cream.

Here is our little story about how it came to be.

First date - ice cream

First Valentine’s Day present - ice cream scoop

Starving student splurge - 10 for $10 half gallons from the local grocer (we’d buy 20)

Ice cream has been part of us since the beginning when we met in 2004. Owning our own ice cream shop has been a dream 15 years in the making. The one class we took together in college was senior English - our thesis paper for the semester was on ‘your passion’. Cyndi wrote hers declaring that she would one day open a local ice cream shop named Lovejoy’s. Being the good student she has always been here she is completing that final assignment. Shout out to Mr. Beeson for challenging his students to break free of the everyday.

Why Lovejoy’s? Our goal here at Lovejoy’s is to bring our community love and joy through small batch ice cream. We want to be a gathering place for family and friends to enjoy the simple things in life like sprinkles, swings, and sweet treats.

Ice cream = joy.

Eating it together = love.

Plus it’s Cyndi’s middle name - which has served her well throughout life.
