Lovejoy’s Real Ice Cream loves being a part of the community and we love to give back within the community and to those in need outside of the community.
We value education.
We have half a dozen children in public schools and we employ many high schoolers. Therefore, our primary way to give back is through generous school night fundraisers. These are usually only for broad groups, like an elementary school PTA (not for a small group like a specific school team). If you would like to set up a school night fundraiser, please let us know. These are typically in the fall or winter on a weeknight.
Occasionally we will make a small donation, either monetary or as a gift card to smaller programs that are looking to raise funds. However, we receive dozens of these requests so we cannot donate to everyone.
We seek to maximize our impact.
We donate a portion of our profits to funds like GiveWell, who maximize the impact of donations. When deployed effectively, relatively small figures (like $4500) can literally save a person’s life in areas of extreme need.
